The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
I once posted about the ancient wonders of the world, which were the first and true wonders. Not many people know about it. People think the China wall is a wonder, but it's one of the modern wonders of the world. The ancient wonders consist of The Pyramid of Gaza, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon (which was a gift by King Nebuchadnezzar to his wife), The Lighthouse of Alexandria, The Temple of Artemis, the Statue of Zeus and a few more. Below is a great documentary that tells you in detail about these lost ancient wonders.

I love this stuff! Couldn't watch the vid but thanks for sharing!
yep if i am not mistaken, the list was compiled by someone in the ancient world and hence all the wonders are located relatively close to each other. Its quite a marvel.. which is y i was so disappointed in the short listing for the new list to be unveiled on 7/07/07.
Amazing Neel and beautiful. I felt I was part of it and enjoyed watching it.
Thank you for sharing it.
I heard that they are trying vote for few more New wonders of the World.
Great video,thanks for that.
I don't think the old list should replace the new one. As I said on an Egyptian blogger's page, I think there ought to be the original seven wonders and a new seven wonders. Two lists. Tis only fair, as there have been so many wonders in our history.
Because, the ancient wonders are just that - we can't even recreate them now!
Nice to revisit our history...well done!
i shall really look fwd to watching this video over the weekend!!! for a history buff like moi, its a delight that u shared this video despite its long running time!!!

Yes! The hanging garden of Babylon was one of the seven wonders.
Due to commercial benefit, I even seen the travel agency advertised Niagara Falls and even an Empire State Building as the seven wonders of the world.

Hey, thanks for visiting!
EVERY single time we've played 'name the ancient wonders of the world' we've gotten stuck at six. If they can lose Pluto as a planet, don't you think they could do something about the ancient wonder that doesn't quite make the cut? It'd help me out SO much in trivia games!
meHay.. thanks for sharing this Nabeel. Informative as always.. Nice pics. Paintings actually.. I just wish to do some paintings like this!
I haven’t watched the complete video yet.. but just looking forward to watch very soon.

Remember me, my blogomate? I am back again after the ban on blogspot in Pakistan has been lifted.
Your blog was stunning when it started and has grown into a gigantic source of awe and majestic feelings. Congrats.
Nabeel, your post took me back to the time I was a child, well grade 3 actually, and I would take down my mom's picture encyclopedia (my most favorite book in the world) and thumb through the pages until I got to the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World. I remember as if it was yesterday the artist's interpretation of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, it was so beautiful! How I wish I knew where that encyclopedia went to...I would have loved to have kept it for my daughters.
