Swords and Mummies
videos - The swords that I am talking about here are the types of swords that were used by Knights and warriors in the 15th century and onwards. The videos were shot in the field museum or the science and industry museum, I forgot, but it's one of those two.
The second video is about mummies. Egyptians used to mummify their dead as a ritual. They first clean the body by washing it with water, and .. well the process is actually very ewww. The remove all the organs (heart, lungs, brain etc) and keep them in various jars. Then they cover the body with salt and other sodium compounds. All these chemicals dehydrate (get rid of bodily fluids such as water, blood) the body. The body is then allowed to drain for 40 days, and then it's wrapped with gauze and bandages and then decorate it depending on the social status of the dead person (Kind, peasant, etc)

I always found this form of preservation very interesting... I'm glad they did it as we have many clues about ancient societies from these mummies.
